Rear light led problem.
Hi everyone, my passenger side, outside light is having a problem with most of the LEDs not working. I have stripped it down and had a look and there is nothing obvious staring out at me. I went to audi to see if I could get a replacement set of LEDs but they want £247 for the whole unit. Does anyone have any ideas or am I going to have to get a new light?
Thanks Steve |

It is a simple circuit that anyone who does soldering/component level repairs could do. The LEDs are called 5mm straw-hat (their optical characteristic) if I remember correctly but are brighter than most on the market. Some small computer shop or one man band might be happy to have a look.

Steve,
Forum Sponsor or Ebay for a good used lamp unit might be the best option. Soldering replacement leds on your existing board can also be done but correct colour/brightness leds could be difficult to source. Some old threads on this if you have a search. Joe |
