Default MTM S8 D2 video

Can anyone work out what engine work has been done in this MTM version of the S8 D2?

Thats a centrifugal supercharger, like a Rotrex or Powerdyne although I can't tell which make it is. Basically a turbo compressor on a gearbox. Good for mild amounts of boost with performance response much like a turbo - laggier than a blower like an Eaton for example.

The header tank and power steering reservoir are obviously moved to the opposite side to make room for what I'm guessing is a single W12 airbox feeding the supercharger. I doubt they have moved the power steering pump. The supercharger appears to be sitting above it.

The pipework to the intercooler is ingenious. They have used flat tubes through the top of the radiator panel down to the intercooler sitting in front of the AC rad. That shortens the overall path and means there's no messy plumbing under the headlights. Nice idea.

464hp mentioned in the comments which is about what I would expect. The 40V would probably do that on less than half a bar of boost without internal changes.

Fascinating MikkiJayne looks like MTM must have offered the upgrade as part of a kit back in the day! maybe i should time hop the MTM website to try and find it and how much i wonder if its even remotely possible to get the parts still? can't be cheap! would it work on our auto's? thats a good power upgrade must also include a remap, looks like it goes well, not keen on the alloys etc, lovely manual gearbox on that S8 as well

Would love a manual box in mine, modern auto boxes like the one in my RS6 are very good and change up and down very quickly, the S8 shows it's age a bit in the gearbox technology I think.

Having said all that what car did I take to the Lakes on holiday last week, yep the S8, its just such a wonderful motorway mile cruncher..and SWMBO thinks I drive like a maniac when I take the RS6

Going off on a (slight) tangent from the MTM video
Have a look a this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyG7ZFByygI

What are the two lit 'boxes' hanging down from the head cloth around 2.05/2.07?
Strikes me that they are rear seat vanity mirrors???

Any thoughts?

Correct, although I've never seen them in a D2 before. Not sure if that one was LWB or not.

Sadly no. All MTM offer for the D2 these days is stickers and horrible wheels They used to do a remap but they don't even have that any more.

A RHD manual D2 will drive out of my workshop at some point in the future
