Default Has anyone got a Navigation CD for Eastern Europe??

Hi
Well, as the thread title suggests.

We have left the UK and settled in Bulgaria, and all we can get on the display is a heading pointer.
I've got a Tom Tom which I use, but I like the built in Nav too, so we need a disc that includes Bulgaria etc.

Any idea where to get one?

What cars is if for? D2 or D3 ?

Either way any discs will be out of date. I never used built-in satnav in A8. I have updated maps to the latest version on the Q7 HDD based satnav but even when they are released they are like 18 months old and I have not used it yet but it's there as backup.

Not sure how the coverage is in Bulgaria but I use either Waze or Google maps on Android phone. Waze seems to have more up to date traffic but Google more up to date with maps.

You might find one on eBay, latest maps were around 2013 I think. Remember the Blaupunkt TravelPilot DX system the RNS-D actually is is the same as a Mercedes Comand system so either CD will normally work.
You do need to make sure it's the DX version though.
(I think the maps in my RNS-D are actually a Mercedes version which has the small bonus that it picks up RDS-TMC traffic info, Audis version doesn't)

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Hi
The car is a D2 S8, The facelift model.

Aye, the disc will be out of date but as we all know, roads don't change that much.
I tend to use my Tom Tom to go to grid references, but it's nice to have the 'big picture' on the cars' screen.

why not use a mobile phone with google maps?

I do about 40k miles a year and nothing works better, especially with traffic updates.
