Is the immob built into cluster on an 08 d3? Still battling a non start and no cluster powering up most times,running out of things to swap!

No, it has a separate Access and Authorisation module. Please post a full and unedited VCDS scan.

I have no ignition or comms with cluster,previously had a comfort can in single wire fault code,been through all the can pins both sides of dash with nothing obvious,new battery,batt ecu,main power lead,alternator and all earth points good,kessy all good

Cluster is apparently faulty,however,it will still start and run without cluster and still displaying weird faults ie becoming unresposive when shut down,heater and lights etc randomly switching on and off when running...
