Hi. Thanks for the reply's

The gas was taken off and a replacement inlet manifold was fitted.

I still have all the parts to put it back on if needed including the original inlet manifold.

For £1k I would get the engine sorted to be honest. Especially when she still runs perfect and the botton end has already had piston rings and all bearings replaced only 13k miles ago and gearbox serviced whilst engine was out

I would like to see you keep it and get the work done so she’s running great again

Dolphin grey is a beautiful colour…although I’m a little biased

I am honestly in two minds....went to work in her today and feel like I should keep her. Have been offered £2.5k as she is including wheels. Was thinking of getting a D3 but this one feels like a grown up version of my Audi 80 2.8 quattro Saloon. Which I replaced with My S2 Coupe which I still have. But the two 80 2.8 quattro's I had just had something about them that that the D2 S8 connects with.

How does D3 S8 or W12 really compare to how D2 drives?

Right foot heavy lol?

The D3 does not have this IMO. Its a big, comfy, fast, high(er)-tech Audi, but it is missing what makes the D2 special.

+ 1 (again!).

Ultimately though, for people on here anyway, it's a bit like house prices - irrelevant unless you're buying or selling.

It's the value you get from the experience of living with them that really matters

I could be looking to sell at the right time looking at some of the posts here recently, or maybe too soon, but that can always be the case.

The D2 is a lovely car to own and really doesn't feel 22 years old.

Hold onto it for now and get MJ to sort it down the line. You won't regret it
