Default 2G AMI Cable for iPhone 4S

I stupidly bought a cheap AMI cable off eBay without realising it was for 3G MMI - needless to say it didn't work in my new car.

For the life of me I can't find someone selling a suitable cable for 2G MMI - can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers...

Thanks. I managed to find one in Germany so hopefully it'll be here soon!

So the cable arrived today. I plugged it into the AMI and an old iPhone 4s with the latest iOS - the iPhone started charging (which it didn't with the old cable). However, when I select it as the source it says initialising for a few mins and then says it can't read the connected device.

Has anyone successfully connected an iPhone to the 2G AMI?

What firmware version is the AMI running, maybe it requires an update to work correctly. The AMI has its own firmware, which is separate from the MMI software version.

Thanks for the reply. How do I find out the firmware version of the AMI?

I've had a look online and know I'll need a USB adapter to update but can't see where to get the latest version from. Any ideas?

When I picked my car up, it came with the AMI but no cable. (I discovered the AMI in the glovebox and did a cheeky fist pump)

However, it took 2 tried with cables for it to work with my iphone.

I use a 32 gb iPhone 4S in the AMI all the time and the first cable I tried was wrong. It wouldn't work at all, apart from charge the phone. The second cable is perfect.

I suspect perhaps you have the wrong cable. I used the first cable in the Peasant VW Polo music interface of another car and it worked for that, so I suspect the cables are not all the same with pin locations etc.
