Default New Hella vacuum inlet manifold flap actuators?

Are these things available new anywhere?

(Hella part number 004 538 I think).

One of mine broke yesterday ...

The arms still seem to move freely so I think it was probably just that the plastic had become brittle and snapped where it clips into the metal bracket.

Fortunately I just happened to have a brand new inlet manifold, complete with actuators (all my parts-hoarding just had to start paying off some day!). So I've robbed an actuator off of that and I'd like to replace it, preferably with a brand new actuator, to make my spare inlet manifold complete again.

Wow

I don't think I paid much more than that for the entire inlet manifold!

Thanks very much for the part number MJ!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they were available from Lamborghini a lot cheaper.

That doesn't surprise me!

I found a new kit on Ebay (in Ukraine) listed at $184.99 (~£130) inc P&P. Made an offer and got it for $130 (~£90). A bit more reasonable I think, though still quite expensive for what it is.

Mark, your "parts hoarding" is going to one day lead to you getting excluded from this forum as a potential rival to our sponsors. You'll need a unit as large as theirs to store it all!

Apparently it's the sames as Range Rover https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...cAAOSwnMBafwul

New here: https://www.britishparts.co.uk/land-...actuator-p2180 and also available from Land Rover dealers but does not include the arms like Audi repair set.

Ah, well. I guess my £90 deal wasn't so bad then, considering it comes with a couple of the plastic link rods too. The Landie unit comes to a total of £90 too when you add VAT and the 6 quid postage. I saw a few used ones on ebay but I didn't want to put a used part back on the nice new inlet manifold.

Ah, but you see I have a cunning plan ....

I've bought a lot of the parts I have from A8Parts. If I keep buying them they'll eventually run out of parts. When they do, I can offer to be their supplier, selling the parts back to them ... for a small profit of course.

Genius, eh!?

Yes, I was going to say P38 cruise control.
B5/C5 cable throttle cruise control actuators might be similar too:
8D0907327

That 077* part number is generic VW, so would also be used on other models. Would have thought supply and demand would drive the unit price down!

Meh - the plastic arms are crap!
Gruven arms (which I have fitted) haven't been that good in my experience, as one keeps popping off (rhs facing engine). In Gruven's defense they did offer to replace the offending arm if it kept happening - I must get back in touch...
In fairness, that arm does not sit at 90° between the vac actuator and flap lever with the flap lever about 5mm or so to the rear of the horizontal plane across the manifold. The forward trust this induces on it may be contributing to the arm popping off the flap lever.

The best arms I've seen yet are the Polish eBay metal ones with the spring lock ball cups. You can make your own to a similar design too.
