Going by the allocated number, and the color, it's a genuine UK-spec RS6+.

Ye gods, I can't believe the price!!!!! As a SA ex-pat I just can't believe the king's ransom people will pay for cars there......I know its an RS6, but its an old one and has no doubt been thrashed a bit in its life (who wouldn't have? It wasn't the usuall choice for Granny was it?) When you put it in perspective, more than half the population in SA wouldn't earn that much in their working lives..... and for those who are working, R1000 a month (less than £100) would be a huge wage for many........

Still, I reckon the equivalent of about £40 000 for a 7, nearly 8, year old RS6 is a bit much ......

Just worked out the exchange... 43k according to Google. Just a smidge overpriced.

Hmm. At that splendid sale price for elderly gas guzzlers, I could even be tempted into shipping my 2001 D2 S8 out there for sale, why I'd even settle for a mere bargain R250 000!!!! (approx £20K-ish!) Or maybe not, I like the old girl too much

The cheapest plus for sale in the UK is £17k but has 102k miles and the only sprint blue one for sale is on for £22k or 23k but with 85k miles. You want a sprint blue one really with only 36k miles for the money that's advertised at

Its still way overpriced Amar, for a 2004 car.....sprint blue or not......
Luckily we have a bit more choice in the UK at prices which don't require the buyer to sell their souls and possibly bodies! An RS6 + is on my to-do list before I shuffle off this mortal coil, though, I must say! Just not at 550 000 South African Rands!!

It is a huge gripe for us in South Africa that vehicle pricing does not follow trends overseas when one compares.
We get taxed heavily and importing is just not an option.... besides the cost....the red tape makes it almost impossible.

A standard RS3 costs R 550 000 in SA.... once you add a few extras at a premium you end up with over R 600 k for a small family saloon...

Its a shame, really. I'd forgotten about the ridiulous price of vehicles in ZA. You end up with what's put together locally (Toyota) or paying several times more than you would pay for a decent house in some areas in ZA, for a car....madness. I bought a new Nissan Patrol, an import as they were never assembled or produced there, many years ago in ZA and it cost more than my house did ......... the economics of it all don't stack up, do they?
