Audi confirmed that they new about the problems *before* they sold the car.
Close old case and open new again with this new document

Might be worth taking it up the dealer group chain since audi uk have little incentive. The dealer group should be more concerned given the fact it's gone out with a safety critical component of potentially dubious origin, a running problem with a bill potentially running to 4 figures and the fault you've flagged which is probably the least critical but still suggests a slack attitude to the quality of the product they retail.

It's reinforced the views I expressed early on about the trustworthiness of the approved used scheme and the lack of oversight by the uk arm of VAG of its dealers (who are just customers of theirs in reality)

Given that both the dealer and Audi UK are quite happy with the way this car was sold, and realistically I'm not the direct purchaser of said vehicle, it makes it very difficult for me to pursue legally I imagine, even though the principal of how I've ended up in this position is so fundamentally wrong.

It probably needs someone in possession of a recently acquired Audi approved Dud to start kicking up a fuss and raising the profile of this issue as I really feel people are getting conned on a daily basis with this Audi approved multi check lark

I've been saying it for years and you know what's coming, They're crooks. You buy a car from a crook you know you're going to have trouble.

I'd find it hard to just roll over Ian, and it's such a shame it finally caught up with you as you've had a good run with Audi really.

But when all said and done regardless of who bought it first last from who, the fact remains that Audi are falsifying documents to make a heap look great and that just can't be legal. Sounds like modern day ringing to me.

Don't pay a penny, and tell them straight they'll get nothing from you let them take you to court and let them try and justify the fact they've tried to con you but it didn't work, but they still want to bill you for it.

If it all goes **** up and you have to pay the bill, give some local smack heads a couple hundred quid to follow him home one evening and rough him up a bit.

If you haven't paid then this is possibly a good option, they would have to raise a small claims case/money claim online at worst and even if you do loose will only cost you the court costs which are usually fairly minimal?
