Default Engine noise after cam belt change

I've just changed the cam belt on my s8, got it all back together and fired it up to find it making a noise. I used the cam timing tool and followed the guide and on initial start up before everything was back together, it started ok. Slight noise initially that i put down to oil starvation but after a second, sounded normal. Now after putting the fan, rad etc back in, it sounds rough.
So yeah, any body got any ideas?
One thing I have noticed is after pulling the timing covers back off, it is slack at a couple of points on the belt, which seems weird.
Any advice appreciated guys.

When you replaced the belt, how did you take up the slack in the belt? It sounds as if you may not have taken enough slack up using the eccentric pulley. Have a read at this http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...8&d=1420349882, it looks like you may be better off re-timing your belt if no damage has been done

Yeah, I think you may be right. I'm gonna try taking it all apart and redo the tensioning.

So I finally got round to doing this a couple of weeks back. I pulled the n/s valve cover off and found the cam tensioner plastic guides had shattered. I replaced the tensioner, chain and gaskets, put it all back together and lined it up. I had concerns of bent valves as the cams had ended up at different points but put it all back together, timed up and did a compression test.
Bank one had 2 ok, 2 low and bank two had 0 on all 4. Tried to start the car briefly, which it did but cut out shortly after.
So I'm going to start taking the head of now, is there a guide perhaps for doing this?
Also, if anyone has an AVP or AQH head going spare, could be of use.
Any advise would be welcome thanks guys.
