Sounds expensive on man-hours; did you manage to get a metal pipe or just a new OEM plastic one?

Edit: just spotted that you didn't have time to get a metal one.

Yes expensive on man hours but not an easy job, all day monday on the workshop ramp and part of tuesday morning, as it went in earlier than i expected

No time to order metal replacement pipe, but by the sounds of it the old one was still ok, it was the seals that had failed on mine, to be safe everything changed out

The metal ones have a double seal whereas, by implication, the plastic one only has single.
Hopefully yours will be good for a long time now.

Also on a side note ordered a new replacement drivers side light unit, where the lock goes into it, as my old one had a crack through it, amazing how clear a new light lense is compared with the old unit so thats on as well ticking bits off slowly...

Great news on the repair RS6. Had that done on my old A8 QS. Very expensive labour costs for a small part
Just had my combined water radiator / gearbox oil cooler replaced with one from our forum sponsors as this was leaking both water and oil.
Radiator was damaged somehow. The leaks were not coming from any of the joints, it was the bottom left corner of the radiator as you look at it from the front.
Anybody else had this problem??

New radiator from Audi was circa £600, but was also on back order so not available.
Fortunately, our sponsors had three second hand units in stock, so came to the rescue again. Thanks guys.
The one they sent me came from a 2001 A8, which was the same part number as mine.
Closer inspection of the replacement radiator showed it as a 2011 radiator as it had a sticker on it stating year. Seems the donor car must have had it replaced at some time as well.
All leaks now resolved. Happy days

barzya8 great to hear you have also had some success fixing problems, it seems we have both had issues then recently, that was lucky turn up with the date on the rad, hopefully we can both get back to enjoying our cars again now for a bit longer
