But, drive it for more than an hour and you wish you'd picked the 8. Lucy's is a 225 version with the small duck-tail spoiler and that just finishes off the back of the car nicely. The TTRS spoiler is a little too shouty.

Funnily enough, when we were looking for that car, every single one we found was owned by a very blokey bloke. Not a coiffeur in sight
I drove it back from Glasgow - 5 hours none stop - and, despite my shoulder still not being 100% after the op, it was comfortable enough. It’s not an ‘8, of course, and the refinement and comfort is nowhere near, but I bought this for fun and I’m keeping the S8, so the best of both worlds! We now have a diesel Mini estate/clubman for trips when economy is important (50-60mpg whatever the conditions) the TTS for fun (and a bit of economy at something over 30mpg) and the S8 for style, fun and comfort (I’ll not mention the ‘economy’!).

Lovely car, and that colour really suits it: and works well with the colour mix in the interior.

I know you've been looking for a while, and were looking for the grey exterior, but I think you'll grow to be glad that you chose the red - I still partly regret choosing grey over red for my MS - and I can't imagine Christine objected to this colour, did she?

Oh, and I was walking down the steps in that 1st photo a week ago - weird or what?

"It has an electronic spoiler. Comes up above a certain speed or when you push a button inside the car. I’ll get a photo later.

And I’m 65 and two-thirds, going on 17!"

Wow, there's a car out there that has a spoiler when you want and then doesn't when you don't? I really need to make an effort to keep up with modern technology.

Anyway, I've just upgraded from an Amstrad 464+ to a Commador 128 so that I'll show ya'll.

Lovely looking car - one of our neighbours has a gorgeous orange TTS - colour really suits it - makes a lovely burble as it heads out of the street (usually with a sodding great big Husky in the back &#128514

One of my all time favourite cars Such good fun on the twisty bits.

Sadly, mine makes a better garden ornament than mode of transport. One day I might restore it. Or stick a V8 in it. Or I might just leave it in the driveway and look at it
