Odd question re servicing
Just looked online at Audi's fixed price servicing for the S8 (as I don't like the idea of 18,000 oil intervals) and I noticed they are quoting on things like cambelt and water pump, I may be wrong but I thought the V10 was chain and tensioner? Did I make that up?
Also, at what point would anyone recommend replacing the water pump? Thanks |

Your not imagining it. The v10 is indeed chain driven like all the other fsi engines.
In regards to water pump replacement I don't know when would be a sensible mileage to replace at.

I thought that was the case but it seems odd Audi would want to offer prices on something that doesn't exist, and hilariously, nearly £500 for a set of front pads alone!
What are everyone's recommendations for discs and pads on the non-ceramic S8? ECP list two different types of front calipers and a mix of pad suppliers, brembo, textar and so on, including ATE ceramic (anyone tried these?), I also know EBC do pads but I'm not a fan of their offer wings. I've got ATE discs and pads on my S8, bought from Germany with considerable help by Marcin, I'd highly recommend them
