It's the acceleration, not the top speed, that makes other cars suddenly disappear in the rear view mirror : Teslas are quick, but not particularly fast (apart from the new Roadster, allegedly... )

Your tag needs editing:
(1) Tesla Model S: (85D). Silent and deadly, and very, very fast...
how about......
(1) Tesla Model S: (85D). Silent and deadly, and not particularly fast... but it's quick

BTW Last time I heard someone use the words 'silent and deadly' the windows were opened, and that was fast

No, in a galaxy, very, very, very far away

Saw it many moons ago, but was just the sort of comedy I needed to watch at the moment. Perfectly timed.

Now, I wonder which Mel Brooks film I should watch tonight?

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I did watch Spaceballs for the first time today, clip from Blazing Saddles did not tempt me.

Anyway Tesla Model S was on How it's Made tonight, I only cought it half way on Quest +1 and it's not available on Quest on demand yet. It's great tech but I cannot see many cars making past 10 years/150k miles which is about a point where I buy my cars , but then again with driverless cars it will probably be cheaper just to order a cab without driver when needed instead of owning a car.

Anyone watching Guy Martin vs the Robot Car?
His supercharged (800hp+) old Volvo drag car got well beat by a Tesla.
