The next meet is at A8 Parts - it's an 'open day'. See the thread here:
http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6166 Brian (Dumbarton) is going down the night before and staying at Darlington Travel lodge. David and I (Helensburgh) are going early on the Sunday morning. Then there's the 'big' annual meet which is in The Forest of Dean this year. Plus numerous local meets scattered about. BTW, you can see where we all are, and add yourself to the list on this thread: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2603

Off topic Stephen, but the 18" sport wheels will fit you FL S8. You just need 8mm spacers up front. I have a set with my track tyres on. A 16mm wider track up front also helps with the under steer. Or is that the very sticky tyre compound!

It's not just the voltage that's the issue.. It's the current it can crank out too, also potentially the alternator isn't giving enough juice out too. I'd take it to a decent motor factor, or even Halfrauds for a check.

Guys,
Thanks all for warm welcome and interesting regarding battery & thanks for the comparison test you did this morning Laird! I will endevour to get a multimeter the next few days and report the voltage. You mention current, is this something that can be quantified easily with a multimeter too? or is that a little trickier due to having to simultaneously start the car and look at the meter? Would'nt I have noticed a dodgy battery manifesting itself in other forms? I have never once experienced sluggish starting, even in sub zero temps. or is the TCU particuarly sensitive to voltage levels? |
