Default Opinions on this D3 S8 please

It has everything I want but I'm no expert on the D3 yet, doesn't look like its got adaptive cruise? I know people say there is a problem with ceramic brakes but apart from that is there anything else I should be aware of?

Love the C5, but it feels very dated inside to me and I've got it out my system now, yes it's insanely fast but in every other way it cannot touch a D2 S8, I do not regret buying it one bit and will happily keep it, but I may aswel try out a D3 S8 and cross the box that says 'V10' off my car to do list.

I've decided the mileage may do me harm come resale once it goes over 100k or nears 100k, therefore, not as keen now. Unless someone agrees to buy the ceramics for £3/4k from me on SRS.

1. The ad says Bose sounds, but they look like B&O in the photos

2. Don't be in a rush, prices are tumbling, the right one will come along, I've seen prices drop by 5-6k since I started thinking about one of these about 7-8 months ago.

It's nice... As sarg says, looks like the B&O speakers in the door, but no 'powered up' dash shots to tell for sure. Not an AMI fit, probably a dension which doesn't work as well IMHO.

As to the 100k miles thing, I wouldn't worry about it, anyone who knows one of these shouldn't be worried about the mileage as long as it's fully serviced and in good nick. I don't think you'd lose much more than one with lower mileage.

Yeah Sarge I'm not in any rush, already got enough people lined up willing to take the RS6 off my hands so won't even need to advertise it.

Heard the views of an owner that has had both, he said the S8 isn't as fast as the RS6 but better in every other single way. Doesn't surprise me as its the same story with the D2 S8!

What I'll do straight away

Milltek
Facelift rear LEDS

Must haves

B&O

Would like

Adaptive cruise

I'm not fussed on colour, I know some will disagre but I think they look fantastic in silver.

Isn't that one of those theoretical numbers related to towing limits?

Nah, must be wrong. I am sure it is no where near that weight, the RS 6 is around 19xx iirc, I reckon the D3 is 19xx too. Must be towing limits as HP says.

According to the brochure (and yes, I'm anal enough to have the right one for my car) the PF S8 weighs 1750kg unladen and the Gross Weight Limit is 2350kg.

Even worse I have a post-it note inside the brochure comparing some key dimensions to its predecessor (a Rover 800 of some sort - I had many of them!):
25% heavier (mostly V8), 6" longer, same width (over mirrors), same boot capacity, 2" more headroom and 5" more rear seat width.
(and yes I do still have some Rover 800 brochures too...... )
