WANTED: Front bumper with lower valance or just the valance

As per the title, I’m after a complete front bumper including the lower valance, or I’ll take just the lower valance if available for a 2002 FL A8/S8.

I have a brand new FL1 lower valance, still in packaging for £120 + delivery

Will this work with mine being a 2002? I’m not very familiar with FL1/FL2 differences.

Unfortunately not. FL1 and FL2 are different. FL2 A8 and S8 are also different, obviously the S8 version being more expensive because they cut a bit off it.

I didn’t even realise there was a difference between A8 and S8 FL bumpers!

I might be better just seeing if the garage can plastic weld the lower part of the bumper.

I showed it in the Barnfind FE thread. The A8 has a lip on the trailing edge - an airdam of sorts. The S8 version has this cut off (literally sawn off) to allow for the brake cooling ducts in the undertray. If you're adept with a jigsaw you could make one from the other.

The FL1 will actually fit the upper bumper, but unfortunately to swap over you also need the FL1 fog lights and grilles which are even harder to find.

I just went back to the thread to jog my memory and it all came flooding back.

At least I now know (remember) that the FL2 lower will work on the s8 and I can just hack the airdam off ….the hardest part is trying to source a bloody bumper

Prestige have an FL2 S8 in the yard waiting to come in, although I think its at the end of a fairly long queue.

If you know anyone coming over from Germany soon then they are available from Tradition still, although unpleasantly expensive. Unfortunately they are also impractically large to ship so it'd have to be brought back in person.

I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for quite some time now and it’s proving to be almost impossible to find a FL2 front bumper.

At this rate it’s looking far more likely that I’ll buy a whole car for the front bumper and scrap it afterwards. There are a few ropey looking examples I’ve spotted that I will enquire about.

I’m going to pay my friends bodyshop a visit in the next week or two and see if he can plastic weld it first before I go down this route.

Have you tried contacting Spanker on the forums? he can probably supply a brand new lower valance from Germany.
