Default Could anyone enlighten me when DPFs were fitted to the 3.0 and 4.2 diesels please?

I have been worried about DPF problems but realise I'm not actually sure what model years were they actually fitted to?!

Thank you 8 Gods!

Think you will struggle to find a UK 4.2tdi that didn’t have one from new. I suspect you will find a few that may not any longer!

Not sure of the introduction date on the 3.0 tdi

My 3.0tdi was one of the earliest. It was made december 2005 and registered feb 2006. It is LWB. They were fitted as standard to SWB a few months later but were a paid option before that. The emmissions sticker under the bonnet will say EU4+DPF
However, the car has 260,000 miles, 110,000 of those in the post-dpf era. I think they are quite cheap parts £a few hundred these days though.

Mine's a 56 plate and it has them, When I first bought it the light came on, I was doing 100 mile a day. No problems since, the previous owner only a few thousand miles in the year he owned it. Maybe it had something to do with it ?

Not sure that a diesel is best for you living on the IOW,

Mine is the 4.2 tdi I was going to buy a s8 before I changed jobs so needed more economy, now back at old job so only 40 mile a day.
I didn't find this site until I bought mine, because I was looking for a r class to tow with.

Yes my friend, I have pretty much come to the same conclusion myself. Plus I've had three diesels on the spin and I'm a bit bored of economy!

I was just wondering, there is so much said of DPFs yet I didn't even know when they were fitted!
