Default Rear seat centre headrest stuck in up position

My Comfort seat centre headrest gets stuck whilst trying to push down. Press the button on the side and if goes down a few inches before hitting something solid and will go no further.

Anyone else had this and worked out how to make it go down to the bottom, the thing is in my line of site through the back window.

never happened to me, is it a dead stop like something hard or a bit of give in it, just below it is the hatch and padding, if you remove the leather piece from the back of the armrestthere is a thick paddding then the hatch, is it in correctly? it should be fixed in solid, or you might have the opening ski hatch type affair

otherwise removing the centre headrest means removing the bench and the backrest.

Yes, its a dead stop. Will not go further, so I end up with 4 inch gap between the headrest and the armrest.

I had a look this evening, no ski hatch present but it does look like someone has had an attempt to take things apart and failed.

I did try pressing down harder to see if I could push it past whatever is blocking it, but no luck. The top setting positions all work fine, so I have no idea what its getting stuck on.

Fixed the headrest today, dare not try and lift it up again. The problem was the plastic trim that move up and down with the headrest, it was getting caught on the lower fixed piece. Took a while to work out how it all works, but its now fully down and out of my line of site.
