I've got a W12 ACC cluster on a non ACC car, codes properly, CP removed in a same manner and mileage corrected by Polish not Albanian mafia and it's all good.
The only think is that when CC is on, the light for CC or ACC is not coming on, but that's normal with this setup, but CC works just fine. When you correcting mileage you can't get it 100% right, I've done two D3 with the most sufisticated machine and milage is always around 100miles (+) (-) from what you want it to be.

Hi,
I have PFL A8, and I want to have the wide DIS. I was thinking to flash the current instrument cluster with the facelift wide DIS firmware. Has anyone done it? Is it a crazy idea? |

My thoughts are that the hardware is different and would therefore require the correct firmware for all functions to work correctly on the windscreen dis. Is your aim to preserve the original mileage?

The display area is physically much larger for the wide display. The easiest way is to swap the complete instrument cluster. Then pay the stealers to remove CP.
The mileage is a problem because I have to date not found a way to change the recorded mileage. Mine was changed by Guy (Daviesbike on this forum) one Saturday. Only took him long enough for me to drink a cuppa. The time consuming bit was visiting Swindon Audi for the CP removal.

Yes I know that the VISIBLE display area is wider, but as seen in the first photos in this thread, the sides are covered. I don't know if the physical hardware is different, I hope not.
So I would remove the cover, and flash the instrument cluster and that's it I wan't to avoid the CP hassle. I don't care about the mileage. |

Are you sure? Have you got any inside photos of the pfl and fl clusters?
If that is really true, then I guess that I can forget the flashing |

The screens are different sizes.
You can swap then over but that don't work. But you might be able to swap the the screens over and then flash the firmware. Could work.
