Honestly, get ready to get a new battery.

This is what I got with a discount for 130quid

WHAT???
If it's disconnected/dead nothing will work plus you may experience additional problems/faults afterwards

Coding is purely (correct me anyone if I'm wrong) to tell the battery management that you have put a brand new battery with correct Ah etc so it can manage it/charge accordingly over the years, something like that.
When mine died over the night it was dead, hours of charge did nothing, couldn't even lock the boot as its electronic, dead !!!!

No ya plumb i mean for example if the battery has been disconnected completely and then a new one hooked up, will the car lose connection with the key or radio? or will some functions on the car require a dealer reset or something???

EDIT: How do you code a new battery in then?

No doubt you can get it cheaper, link to ECP was just for the spec. If you can get same discount in your local ECP than its only 10quid more but its your call mate. And yes, 110A and 920cca is what you need, BUT thats what I needed for my petrol. Just make sure you don't need slightly higher specs for diesel, not sure if it matters at all, but...

Well, its not critical but its there for a reason so its important to do it long term.

If you dont have VCDS then you will have to go somewhere, BUT the best possible investment you can do for yourself and your wallet as a A8 owner is to buy one, and I'm sure 99% of people here will agree

If you like, go to https://www.carparts4less.co.uk (part of ECP)
you can use the coupon SAVEME75 and the same battery is just £123.77 and you can reserve and collect from shop now, whereas you couldn't on this website until this week..
