Parking sensor optical display not working

I've swapped my 4E0 919 283 A module for a 4E0 919 283 C module in my 2003 D3.

I checked module 76 coding and it was already showing a 2 for the second digit. All of the other coding for the unit was good too but I can't remember it all off hand.

The sensors are working but I'm not getting the display on the dash.

My MMI is at the highest level.

Is there something else I need to code or enable in the MMI?

In the settings for the parking sensors should be an option for the display type on the MMI

I can't find any other settings for the MMI. I have the MMI hidden menu enabled and I can't find anything in there. My parking module coding is: 0201108



My MMI is at software version 5570. I've been through the 3 software update CDs again and all reported no updates required. I've performed an mmi soft reset too.

Sorted it.

Had to update MMI Control Unit module 07 adaptation channel 1 to add the front acoustic parking sensors and rear acoustic parking sensors. I hadn't considered doing this because the acoustic side of the system was working fine.

Anyway, after adding bits 2 and 3 (12) to the original value I then got the optical parking aid displayed on the MMI screen - well after another MMI reset I did.

I think you need to go into the MMI menu on the car rather in VCDS to enable the display. I think its is the car..systems menu

Just fitted one of these C boxes and it worked straight off. Am guessing that the car may have had one fitted before and someone cheapskated or sold the upgrade seperately!

Nice and useful upgrade for me as I have to park the car next to a wall where other cars are also parked, which means an acoustic sensor is full on and you have to guess distance!
