Dodged a bullet somehow...
Noticed the driver window was down by about 2 inch. Must have been like this for over a week. No rain damage or forced entry

im sure ive seen other posts where people have come to their car in the morning and the window is down or part down since they left it very odd

Actually I had an A4 that would fully lower one window. Maybe the same fault is present in the D3 also? Could explain why the interior was bone dry as maybe the window lowered sometime today not for over a week.

Sounds a bit like the anti trap safety on the window dropping it a touch , wonder if the battery going low on volts could trigger that to happen ??

I find that part (or fully) open windows are usually down to my keys in my pocket getting squished and activating the windows-down function.
The car relocks itself quite quickly if the doors aren't opened.

Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
