Default Cheap Brake Pads

Just a warning to fellow A8'ers not to bother with Allied Nippon brake pads.
After seeing the £170 price of the original 4E0698151 PR#1LL I looked at GSF/ECP etc.. but the prices weren't great, so I tried these at £35 delivered as they are E11 R90 approved (UK tested) anyway.

They looked fine, but are dreadful in every way, poor soggy brake pedal even after 500 miles of bedding in, appalling feel, not progressive at all, shriek like stuck pigs when parking or stopping.

Needless to say, three weeks later, I am sending them back. I replaced them with Mintex MDB2645 which were £58 delivered and these seem to work just like the Audi originals and worked fine from the first mile.

I made the mistake in thinking that EU brake part regs were useful, and that these pads were Japanese, but after some googling and looking at the factory on google earth I see they are made in the Indian EICHER factory. Nevermind. All's well that ends well.
