Audi S8 D2 Facelift correct size discs??
I have both an early 1999 facelift S8 and a later 2000 facelift, the difference between cars seems to be the badging on rear and front, the earlier car has the same badge as the pre facelift S8 and also the same badge on instrument cluster, but it also seems that the brakes might be different as ive just bought a set of mintex 280mm for the rear and they dont fit which seems to indicate that only 269mm will fit? However my other car seems to be ok with the 280mm, Im wondering if the pre facelifts had 269mm at the rear and this was carried on in the early facelift models and then upgraded to the 280mm later? Does anyone know?? Thanks

I wouldnt be at all surprised if Audi "used up the old stock" first as there are countless other examples of where they have done that on the change from PF to FL

If you have a PR code in the service book 1KE then it's definitely 269mm rears and if it's 1KW then should be 280mm
I suspect it's related to front brake setup as there's no VIN series associated with the choice

Old discs on FL
Quote:
PRCode: 1KE = Disc brakes rear PRCode: 1LX = Disc brakes front So it looks like mine are the smaller 269mm jobs out of the Audi parts bin. |

269mm rear, 323mm front so the most common size for FL D2 A8Q, only S8, W12 and armoured versions have bigger on D2
