Default For sale: Audi S8 Face Lift

Hi all.

Unfortunately, I need more boot space and I've just bought an A6 Avant so my S8 is for sale. It's a late 1999 facelift 40v AQH model. Below is the full description I'm going to use in other adverts in a week or two and here is a link to some images of the car...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/5771391...7627114666485/

Regarding price, I'm hoping for around £2500 ono.

I also have a set of 5 20" Genuine Final Edition alloys with Dunlop Sport tyres fitted. These have done around 50 miles since having a refurb so are in as new condition. I'm looking for £750 ono for these. Please message me for images.

Any questions, please feel free to message me.

Cheers,

Tony.

As you can see from the spread sheet, the car has a great history which is backed up by a fully stamped service book and a folder full of invoices and receipts. The private plate is in the process of being removed and the car is going in to have the front discs and pads replaced on Friday. I am just about to tax it for another 6 months and the MOT test expires 7th Feb 2014.

Mileage is just about 173k. The higher initially put me off but you just wouldn't believe it has done that many. I know people throw that statement around but in this case, it is 100% true. I opted for this one over other lower mileage ones as it drove better and has a great history. It’s had 3 previous owners, one being the Duke of Bedford, which I have kept a copy of the V5 showing this. When I got the car, I had the timing belt and water pump replaced as a preventative measure. I also had a couple of tiny leaks from the gearbox so I had the box removed by a ZF specialist who rebuilt the whole box. I don't do a lot of miles however, I'm a big believer of frequent oil changes with good oil and on the last service in Feb, all Audi parts were used – previously, I’ve used Castrol Edge 5wt30. My family have used the garage for 30 years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car. They also look after our 911 and Golf.

You can see from my pictures the condition of the car. When I bought it, I couldn't find that the car had any body work which was a big selling point for me. Because of the miles, the front end was stone chipped as you would expect so I took it to an excellent body shop who painted the front wings, bonnet and bumper. A proper job was done and the bonnet and bumper were removed so you can't even tell it's been done. As you can see, I'm into detailing so using the correct polishes and waxes really helps bring out the metallic fleck in the paint. At the same time, the alloys were refurbished and are still in superb condition. Tyres are Dunlop Sport Maxx, all with approx 5-6mm tread remaining. I always try and use Shell fuel where possible as I read it was the best (plus I collect the points) – I have all fuel receipts from when I bought the car 3 1/2 years ago.

Mechanically, the car is superb. Because of the age, it does have a couple of things I’d like to make any buyers aware of... The parking sensors work perfectly but sometimes they randomly beep when reversing - this doesn't affect their operation. There is a tiny (and I mean tiny) intermittent click from behind the dash which is motor for the vents. Again, this doesn’t appear to affect the operation of the climate control. I'm pretty picky and it doesn't actually bother me. The odometer is fading slightly although you can still make out the mileage. Cluster Repairs have quoted £40.00 for the LCD repair. There is a small 1mm line right at the bottom of the nav screen, again, doesn’t affect operation whatsoever – it actually looks like it’s supposed to be there.

Condition of the interior is excellent for the age although there is the obvious slight bolster wear on the driver’s seat. I treat the leather regularly with Race Glaze conditioner. Last year I gave the interior a good deep clean including the carpets and since then I have used over mats. The rear doors have built in roller blinds. All of the seat adjustments work perfectly – the seats are actually much more comfortable than in my new A6. Sat nav works well although the disc is a little out dated.

Lovely colour...good luck with the sale, I'm sure it'll go to a good home, which should make parting with it a bit easier.
