Gti International 2012 - Meet Report & Pics
Guys, i just wanted to say apologies i didnt get to speak to people today, i parked the car up about 8:30 before anyone arrived then straight over to set up a mates autojumble. I popped over a couple of times to get bits from the car but nobody was about.
I would have got over again this afternoon but the 1/4 mile accident happened 20ft in front of me and we got caught up in the area being cordoned off. Scary thing to see people getting thrown in the air like that. Hope nobody from here knows the injured or was involved. Hopefully next show i'll get to meet faces, Scott

Great day, sad at the end. Hope nobody was too badly hurt.
My best 1/4 mile times with a passenger and bad launch were 0-60 in 4.33 seconds 1/4 Mile in 12.77 Not too shabby.

Another update from your romping reporter. . . . .
Well I made it rain yesterday after spending ages cleaning my '8 - it really didnt look too shabby until after it had rained yesterday then on the way to the meet this morning I had to drive through a 1 foot deep flood lol The roads were desserted at 6am as I drove to meet up with CtL at the M40/A43 services . . . . and just one VAG car to be seen through a rainswept window there . . . Not a very nice arrival weather wise as you can see - Part 2 Follows . . . . .

We arrived at Bruntingthorpe at 9am where we found RadoVR6's '8 parked up on the stand (recognised it as the one from Scotland that had "B16 SGL" on the number plate, and tinted headlights, and sure it used to have the monoblock wheels in those days!
Goran rolled up in his 2.8 S8  along with Amar and Jugga in the RS6 Plus a little later, and we also caught up there with MkOneMan - James who was working there plus Roberto who had brought his freshly purchased D3 4.2 Tdi on a 57 plate in Silver

We are not sure of all the details, but a car with a clik on steering wheel lost control and spectators got affected/injured. Either way we really hope all involved are ok and not too seriously injured.

A track prepared Leon lost control due to - it seems - a snap off steering wheel boss failing and the car swerved across the strip and through the plastic barrier and metal railings. Three people were bonneted and thrown clear of the car. Two were taken away by ambulance and one by air.
Very scary to see, i dont know if we'll ever know the outcome but when the car came to a stop i saw with my own eyes the steering wheel was detatched from the column in the drivers hands!
