This could seriously effect people who don't wash their cars, because the only time their cars are washed is when it rains. Therefore it will be illegal for those cars to be on the street when it rains.

Who vote for these idiots in government? I'm already 2,5 years in the UK and its getting noticeably worse and worse. Instead of enabling stuff they just ban everything... It is illegal to eat apple when you drive.

A very interesting debate. A driver has a resposibility to ensure the car is fit to drive, ie the windows and lights are clean. If they are not how are you supposed to drive to the car wash? plus where does the boundary between cleaning the inside and the outside come? If I am washing the door slams and water is running off onto the road is this to be banned? Bearing in mind mechanical forecourt cleaners, the protagonists of this argument, don't do this are we resigned to dirty door slams?

Then there is the question over enviromental damage. What is the enviromental damage of everyone driving to get their cars cleaned v treating the darin run off.

The article also seems to target on street cleaning. Surely if you clean a car on your driveway the run off ends up in the same drains? Mine certainly does.

Not usually in an A8 due to the double (inner and outer) door seals.
Mine only need an occasional wipe.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

From my unhappy experience isn't Nankang the Mandarin word for suicide, but on a budget
