Default Driving to Germany

Taking the car to Frankfurt in a months time. This may sound like an odd question but do I simple stick beam adjusters on the headlights like other cars I have owned or will they 'auto adjust'.

I thought I'd read something on the forum about beam adjustment via coding but cannot find it now.

I have the lights that point around corners at slow speeds etc

Many thanks all!

Hi, you'll need to enable tourist mode. There's a thread on here somewhere, I'm on mobile and can't search very well but here's a link to vcds

You have to engage tourist mode using VCDS. It's in 55 Xenon range>Adaptation and the channel depends on model of headlights and year, but VCDS tells you.

Why it was not put in the MMI, I will never know.

When tourist mode is enabled, you can drive in any country, left or right traffic as the beam cutoff becomes flat.

As above. I use it fairly regularly, and second the view that it should have been in the MMI all along.

With my 2007 D3 S8 I was told by Audi that nothing need doing. The lights don't auto detect, but apparently they are OK to drive on either side without adjustment. I'm skeptical of this TBH

As said, dead easy to go in VCDS.

Only on the D4 do they auto adjust from GPS but there is also an option in the instrument cluster menu switch it manually.
