Car is on trickle charge... it's a new battery, the one MJ advised getting. Later today I will have a go and listen out for the pump.

I have read another thread (Nognar) where similar issues prevailed, also noted that there is also an outside chance the relay could also have issues. Grasping I know.

Thanks for the tips

Spark plugs out, soaking. Flooded.

Pulled fuse to pump, not that I knew the thing was working anyway and spun it over without the plugs in. Plugs replaced, spun over and fired up, on the button!

Thanks for the support guys, pump not needed, this time.

If you are asking me I don't have a clue! Previously I was turning the car over with the new battery you suggested, it was trying to catch but just not firing up.

As suggested by B@FINK I put the battery on charge, topped up to 12.7v. I thought I may as well check lines, hoses (grasping again) and thought I would pull a spark plug (vice grip garage technique) and see if anything there could be amiss. Plugs pretty good but stank of unburnt fuel.

Maybe previous starting attempts caused this, I am not sure. Cleaned and dried the plugs, turned over and fired straight up!

Checked the voltage across the battery whilst idling and getting 13.95 volts
