I think I can mgf. a reflection/mirror slip cover for the "050"...I'll keep you posted.
You can make mirror to see to the side pretty easily but it will be hard to figure out how to look up. Also 12mm will be tight fit but 9mm or 5.5mm borescopes are much more expensive.

Default got the DCS050 installed

Received the 'borescope' a few days ago...then tried to get it installed...some issues w/msft's vista os...finally got that solved.

The dcs050 is pretty neat looking & operational. I have found several 'viewing' softwares that work...even Skye!!!

There are 3 clip on attachments that come with the base unit... 3 inch long hook, a small but powerful magnet & a 60 degree angle mirror.

The 12mm (0.47 in.) made it down the spark plug opening just fine...sharp image w/adjustable led's lites...I'll save a few screen shots & post later.

I did not have the optional 3 clips w/me ...left them home on the table... so I couldn't check out the 60 degree angle mirror.

I think this fairly inexpensive usb 'bore-scope' could be quite useful in hard to see locations for repairs, great for screen shots when showing damaged or repaired issues to report for the forums...!!!...even video clips for forums, youTube or w/Skype for live consultation w/service techs, forum members or as a webinar instructional tool.

I can see where a swivel option to the 'head' or the 'shaft' would be beneficial...but w/the ability to 'rotate' the screen shot 90 degrees w/the 'scopeview software'...a delayed solution considering the price around $55 $usd

The regular web page had a $10 price increase...but if you use the link posted earlier...it still produces the lower price order page....****ss...don't tell anyone....

Here are some of the Specifications:
Resolution: 640×480
Fixed Probe: 12mm (0.47 in.) Diameter x 1m (3.28 ft.) long Far-Focus*2 Camera-Tipped
Field of View: 60°

Working Temperature: 32° to 113°F (0° to 45°C)
Working Humidity: RH 5% to 95% non-condensing
Power Source: USB computer supply
Connection: Standard USB interface or higher
Storage Temperature: -4° to 122°F (-20° to 50°C), ≤85% RH
Dimensions: 10.5 x 2.9 x 3.1 in. (266 x 73 x 80mm)
Weight: 4.8 oz. (135g) w/o probe

More later...hope this helps if you need or wanted a nice instrument....I'm not getting any commissions or anything...I just think it is a pretty neat...low cost tool to hook onto my laptop...like the Ross-tech vagcom...handy effective tools to stop chasing rabbits down holes !!!

Thanks for the update Wizzard. I like the look of that bit of kit. Anyone interested in a group buy?

10 delivered to the UK would cost $450 + $300 postage + Customs charges (approx a further 25%) so a rough £56 each.

Maybe Wizzard would act as an agent?
