Cool I've blinded myself!!!!!

OK, so I've recently purchased some 'proper' polishes, and have been outside today starting to give the car the once over. Well maybe the 4-5 times over!!!

So I'm there, having completed 1/2 the bonnet, to do the usual before and after comparison, and have been pleasantly surprised to see a definite result.

However, my advice to all potential detailers out there.......don't try to get a pic of the sun reflecting off your bodywork after polishing ......I now have the sun burnt onto the back of my bloody retina, so am now going to eat my lunch.

Pics will be up later.....assuming I can still see to take them

Oh noo, unlucky Tony. Thanks for the tip. I've got a good few days of detailing before me. Can't wait to see the pics.

Done for the day....possibly

Gotta go get the kids from nursery, which today means about an hours walking return trip. So pics later, I'm very pleased with the results, but it's by no means complete yet.

Oh yeah, I have my sight back too now

Well guys, I'm pretty pleased with the results so far, I know it's not quite up to the same standard as some of you guys on here, but hey it's my first time.

Before

Here's the really embarrasing wheel shot.....those lips are supposed to be shiny

The engine bay.....not too bad really

After a wash, and claying....looking better already

Here you can see some of the swirl marks on the bonnet

Here's the first test polish on the bonnet.....they're both before and after

The passenger side, complete

Some swirling on the boot

The finished bodywork....except the roof

Enjoy the pics fellas, and don't give up on your own

Wheels and interior for me tomorrow....oh and the engine bay
