Thats spot on - I have the same toroidal tank in my D3 and I concur with those figures

I used to get about 350km out of mine.
But it was a fuel guzzler, horrible inlet/exhaust design on a Holden Red Motor (push rod straight 6cyl 3.3L).
LPG system was also the poverty model with a constant flow venturi vapour ring design.

Vera's system looks to be a thoroughly more modern vapour injection system. Far more efficient and necessary on variable inlet multi-valve heads.
Still inefficient compared to petrol, and probably a noticeable power loss, but all in all not a bad compromise when looking at cost per mile (LPG runs about 55c-60c/L here, compared to $1.25-1.40/L for petrol ($1.40-1.65/L for 98RON)).
The only thing better than that is a liquid injection system, which are very expensive.

Reminds me of when I had my first car, a Vauxhall Nova 1.5TD. Had an interest in music then, and remodelled the boot to accommodate a CD multi-changer (a big brute in the late 80s) on one side and a couple of amps and lockable storage space for the head unit on the other. Had to then redo the floor to get access to the spare and used some Aluminium checker plate that was hinged, with gas struts. Rear shelf was replaced with MDF to take the 7" speakers and 10" sub-woofer, with a further six speakers upfront.

Scuttle panel and windscreen washers tonight.

When I took the e-box lid off I discovered the wires and pipes were hanging down, and it turned out it had a random piece of pipe in there which didn't fit very well so stripped it down and started again

New washer jets since the heaters didn't work in the old ones

Jets installed

New clips to hold the pipes down

Pipes fixed in place

Wires nice and neat

Installed and wipers back on

Covers back on and we're done under the bonnet

I'll probably be doing something similar fairly soon; where did you get the 4D0955491A clips from, I might need a few?

1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.

And when you think there's nothing left another detail shows in that perfection!
How did you find out the heaters won't work anymore? It's summer!
Thank you so much, Mikki Jayne!

The LPG is by Zavoli. It is an Italian make with a master slave system. Both my Vento 2.0E and the A6 3.2 FSI run flawlessly on Zavoli, too.
The LPG tank lets me fill up approx. 64,8 litres and it lasts for approx. 300 km. In average it's approx. 12 mpg. A loss of power cannot be denied so the LPG sometimes needs to be switched off depending on the circumstances.

Couple more jobs tonight:

One of the mounting points on the undertray was broken. I've cut a chunk out of an old broken tray to use as a repair piece.

Stuck the repair piece on using panel-bond. This is a structural polyurethane for sticking bodykits on so it ought to stick the plastic quite well but still be flexible. This is rather experimental so we'll find out in a day or two if it works!

With that done, moved on to the missing fridge bracket. I made a new one from 25mm aluminium flat bar, bent to shape. Using a 'mandrel' to get a radius on the bends:

Rough shape

I needed to tuck the front of the bracket in round the shape of the fridge to get to the mounting holes so used a couple of bits of steel to form a kink

Wrapped the completed bracket in anti-rattle felt tape and its ready to fit

Here the car threw me another little challenge. I was expecting the sheet metal to have captive nuts of some sort, but it turned out they were just through-holes. Back seat out then, to get a nut on the bolts!

Employ Mr Tickle to hold the bolt in the boot and the nut in the cabin at the same time

Bracket bolted in place and secured to the fridge with plastic rivets

And finished with it's cover panel

Pretty happy with how that turned out
