Default Inner edge front tyre wear

All,

Is significant wear on the inner edges of the front tyres (20s on a D2 S8) a 'feature', or symptomatic of an alignment problem?

Ta,

As a first point of call i would check the alignment and camber, i had this issue but running 18's, there is a post on here about it. Camber on the front is not ajustable but mine was way out. the only way to bring it right was to push the car up from under just taking a bit of weight and it would come right on the gauges. Can only think that the springs have either lost a bit of strength or have been swapped out for something

In the end i took it to a reliable guy who 4 way'd lasered it and i was able to speak with him, and got him to adjust the toe angle to cancel out the camber affect, i.e. tow in.

Getting too much negative camber is quite often if top suspension arm bushes are worn on all A4/A6/A8/Passat series. Worn or incorrect springs can play a part as well and also lost locating dowels for top suspension mounts. All of this result in excessive tyre wear on inside edge.
