Default d2 314mm upgrade

i have the pf 4.2 with 314mm fronts and as i have final edition 20s they look tiny.
is there an easy way to upgrade to the later size 323mm or what ever it is.
on the mk4 vw platform all we had to do was swap the caliper carrier to the 312 from the 288 and obs the 312 disks as calipers were the same.
is this so on the audi a8. i have the 8 pad setup.
or is there a way to bolt on the fl a8 s8 setup.
cheers. david

Going to 323mm is fairly simple, you need new calipers and discs for that, there is no separate carriers for 314 and 323mm. Going for FL S8 345mm brakes will need new wheel bearing housings/uprights as the brake calipers attach in different way. You might be able to use FL 360mm brakes if you can get hands on set.

323 and 314mm pads are interchangeable.

Guide for exactly what? 314 to 323mm is bolt off/bolt on job, you only need calipers and discs but I don't think it makes much of difference either performance or looks wise. Some other FL D2 or D3 360mm or 385mm calipers that use same attachment might fit but D2 FL S8 345mm Brembos attach differently and will need different uprights. I have been tempted to try 360mm D3 brakes myself if I can get them cheaply enough.

Sorry but no, FL pads are different.

PF 314 and 323mm pads are interchangeable, officially Audi part numbers are different but you can swap them. Dezzy changed his calipers and discs from 314 to 323 and used the same pads. The difference is that 314mm pads have balancer counterweights and 323 does not. My theory is that they put weights on to reduce vibration and noise on 314 pads but removed them from 323 version to make sure they fit under smaller rims like 16"
