S8 rear subframe query.
Hi all
The first part number is the one listed for my 2002 Audi s8 rear subframe. It seems to be NLA and pretty difficult to find from a breakers. The other part number seems very similar. I suspect the bushes are different? Does anyone know what the difference is and can the AG be adapted to fit my car. 4D0 505 235 AN 4D0 505 235 AG Thanks Frank

Have you tried our sponsors? They supplied me with a replacement subframe fairly easily, and for a good price.

Yeah, have been in touch. They have an AG but not an AN. It's not too expensive so if someone can tell me it will fit then am happy to buy it.

My guess, after looking at the info here and here, would be that the difference is probably just the bushes and that AG is an earlier part number. In the ETKA link, the AG part's bushes are listed as "use if required", whereas the AN part states "also use", leading me to think the difference might just be that the AG part came supplied with bushes while the AN part did not. Personally I'd probably take a chance and order the AG part.
On a number of occasions I've ordered alternative parts with a different suffix that turn out to be identical to the original part. By the way, if you find your rear diff bracket bushes are knackered too (as mine were) and you can't find a good D2 bracket (4D0599285), I can confirm a D3 bracket fits perfectly (4E0599285)
