If A8 Parts say they are genuine, they are genuine.
 The normal and replica ones are cheap plastic, the genuine ones are heavy and will give you a concussion if hit around the head with one.

They certainly look like the genuine article (I mine).
I'd start with some VERY gentle polishing, and see what you get. Not sure what you're expecting, but mine are aluminium, not chrome, so they're NOT shiny as such. Edit: seen the latest close-up picture. That's WRONG.

Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.). 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation".  (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

So is it a fact that they are solid aluminium? or could they be plastic core covered in 1/10 mm aluminium sheet metal?

Mine are solid aluminium, and heavy. Not grey plastic, with a thin chrome layer.

Sorry, but you're going to have to tell us as you've got them there.
Mine are genuine and SOLID aluminium shells. As I said they're not especially shiny, nothing like chrome. NOT solid = NOT genuine.  Best talk to A8parts; is there any possibility someone intercepted and swapped them?

I opened them up, and they do look like solid aluminium from the inside.. picture comming up
No chance of intercept, they are sealed from A8 parts and nobody but them and I know that I have ordered them give me 2 min on the picture
