Older slyle Mercedes e class has got an additional grille on the top of the bonnet.
I'm taking about old e classe with circular headlights from 1990es or that kind of era.
But their grille is located closer to windscreen area.
I have no idea about purpose of that grille, but try to investigate if it can be fitted your S8 and why they used it on old e classe in the first place.

Google for "mercedes e class bonnet grille top" and click on Images.

Edit: I'm talking about w211 chassis and part number A211880005. Just google.

But it is long and curved, It will not fit D2 hood any good.
You have a reinforcement in the middle of the hood.

I need two on the sides.

To me at least body colour vents look more oem and less garish. Even better if they can be blended with body filler into the hood so they look like they are one part.

Also, you could try covering the airboxes in aerogel insulation to isolate them from engine bay heat.

Aerogel
It's too thick and I don't want to hide my nice carbon fiber airbox

MG vents would be nice but too difficult to make.

And I need vents that is not recessed into the hood.

On the side, I have place for maximum of 40 cm x 11 cm, but the best is probably around 30-37 cm long x 7-10cm wide.

And towards the middle there is space for vents 20x20cm

But maybe I only put long vents on the side now and nothing in the middle.

If you need two vents take a look at other mercs. There were sport models with two nostrills on the bonnet. Don't know chassis number though...

Are any of THESE or THESE any use?

They are just too big and they sit in the middle of the bonnet.
Only the bottom right "Bullet Scoop" fit but such I do not want
