QANTAS introduces non stop service Perth to London
This one's for you David!
17½ hours direct flight using the 787 Dreamliner! (and no, I don't mean Scotland!) What was months in the 18th century, became weeks in the 19th century. The early 20th century reduced this to days, then the late 20th century saw this drop to just under a day. Now it's 17½ hours! It'll still take 21 or 22 hours to reach the Eastern States though. Yes, saw that.
But 17.5hrs on a bloody plane doesnt fill me with joy. Last trip back we shared a 3seat row with a woman so fat we flew with one wing lower than the other and kept circling over Dubai.  The seats on Emirates 777s or AIrbuse 380s are in no way similar to an S8's Sports seat - I wish they were.
