Default Selling 2002 FL S8

Morning all

I think I've come to the end of the road with my S8. It's been about 7 years and I've loved her to bits but I can't really afford to keep her on the road any longer and I'm hoping someone else can.

2002 in Aqua Pearl (rare metallic blue/purple)
Black leather with dark wood inlay
Factory bootlid spoiler
136k miles
Part service history (last service was Feb last year)
MOT until end Feb

Good bits:
Original Milltek backbox - these are super rare now
Recent custom build stainless steel exhaust with 200 cell sports cats from from down pipe to back box
20" OEM wheels recently refurbished in storm grey, with painted black calipers and S8 decals on them. Looks fantastic.
Original Sat Nav in place
Black leather has held up well - really lovely feel. Back seats have hardly been sat in
New window motor installed on driver's side
F125 switch done 5 years ago (but may need replacing again - couple of fault codes earlier this year make me think its a possible weak spot still)

Bad bits
Front bumper needs a respray as laquer is peeling
Cam belt service due but car has done less than 2000 miles since the last one
Coolant level warning light keeps coming on - coolant levels are fine and she runs at a rock solid 90 degrees all day everyday. Its a wiring issue to the instrument binnacle which needs an auto electrician to sort.
Headlight level sensor needs replacement

It drives phenomenally well - pulls brilliantly and runs like a dream mechanically. The new exhaust makes it sound unreal and releases as much power as is available from 4.2 40v.

But I can't afford to spend the money on the bad bits above - so its time to move her on.

Will be heading on to Pistonheads next week for £4k but for a genuine forum member it's available for £3.5k.

Hope someone can enjoy her as much as I have.

Sad times....

Yes they are. I had no idea! The driver's side one has a hole in it.

Just to add that I thought I recognised this car when it arrived on my driveway yesterday and I was told it's previous owner was Professor Peach on here. He hasn't posted in at least 5 years though.

If Richard is happy I can post the codes from the VCDS scans (second one after a cleardown and run around the block).

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

The central vent potentiometer issue I've had myself and fixed by moving the dial back and forth a few times. I did that to this one too.

Let me know if you want to sell the rubber floor mats separately, I would buy the car just for them but have exhausted all my parking space with a car for my gf

Does that mean someone else can have the rest of the car for free?
