Default Engine management light on!

Driving home from a trip to summer set (camping and a car show) and I look down to see my engine management light on...

I dont have VAG com, the car drives absolutly fine with normal MPG and no misfires - i assume from this is probably coolant temp sensor or lamda sensors (one of my cats rattles inside - so lamda is hihgly likly).

Im not going to be able to reach a garage imediately to get it plugged in - seeing as it drives 'OK' will it be alright to get me to work?

Thanks in advance!

It went into the garage at the weekend - the fault is as suspected related to the cat. Apparently due to a duff lamda it has put excess fuel through the right bank and burnt out the cat.

The fix- a new cat and lamda. I'm still deciding what to do as the cat is circa £700 from Audi and that sensor 150.

I believe (perhaps wrongly) that the old cats have quite a high trade in value. Worth checking out before you go bequeathing it to some lovely dealer
