Default It's not dead!?!??!?

Nope, there is now a documented case of a pre 2000 S8 coming back from the insurance company after a scrape and not being sent to the scrap yard in the sky.

My rather large excess saved it. For the purposes of repair they only valued the car at £1200. The same as a set of tyres and a minor service lol.

I now have a very shiny front end that is very nearly the same colour as the rest of the car. At least those annoying brillo padded patches have now gone from the bonnet.I have a shiny new grill and badges and a pristine bumper and number plate holder as well.

God knows what the insurance will be like after two scrapes in one year, I look forward to it, at least one wasn't my fault so it shouldn't be all bad.

As it's still alive I've decided to look at a niggle that's bugged me since I've had the car.

See thread here if you have any thoughts.
