The video makes it look as though your group took things at a more leisurely pace. And why not. No one said it was a race.
The music chosen is quite fitting though for a funeral cortege
(just pulling your leg!).

That's what I did until I realised they were both German and may not know the way! Fortunately one of them did but we got the map and sat-nav ready just in case.

We had the added bonus of having done about 95% of that exact journey (apart from the diversion through the back streets of Holmfirth!) the previous day, in reverse.

Mainly to have a scenic approach to the hotel, but also to avoid the Friday afternoon traffic on our way up from the lunch rendezvous at the Wharf Tavern.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Here Maps insisted we could get out of that village via the footpath I'm just glad there were only 5 cars behind me rather than the 12 I had leaving Holmfirth! We gave up on Here at that point and used Fred's Google Maps instead.

Great video. It was nice to see the trip again. And to see some parts through Holmfirth that we didn't take.
The group I was in was driving pretty fast in some places, so I just floored it to keep up with the car ahead of me at all times
We arrived shortly after you I think

My pet was scared of water so I was compelled to use another route to Bakewell .. then followed that very helpful itinerary.

Very scenic drive!
