If you want, PM me your address and I'll burn and send you a DVD that works in mine...
It burns all good but then when I insert in DVD reader it says insert a valid nav DVD or so

I have the full version downloaded from a Mega link, but don't have a D3 to test it on yet (Borys if you read this drop round and I'll give you one)

Cheers

I decided to see if I could get my Nav working with a burnt 2017 DVD-R, I used my mac running macOS, in macOS you use finder to burn ISO files to disc as its been removed from Disk Utility.

Before putting the burnt disk into my D3, I put a CD lens cleaner in the DVD drive, waited for it to say check Navigation DVD and removed the cleaner. I repeated this at least a dozen time, I wanted to make sure the little brushes on the cleaning disk had been passed over the laser multiple times. You can hear the laser move back and forth, so I was sure the brushes would be picked up at some point.

Then popped in the 2017 disk, and it read just fine. I then plotted a route to John O groats from where I am, and that worked as well and I could display the map with no issue.

I'll try a drive next weekend and see if it does what all DVD-R's have done in the past which is eventually stop working. Looks promising at this point though.

If it does stop working again it'll either be the quality of the media, or most likely a tired laser

From what I've read the best chance of success is a Dual layer DVD that is not in any way translucent burnt at a slow speed. I've had no issues myself with just cheap DVD-Rs burnt fast that you can see through.
