Default 17125 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off

VagCom threw the following fault code after my test run tonight. I've had it before intermittently. Doesn't seem to effect anything......

17125 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off.
P0741 - 35-00 - -

Anyone any ideas?

Oooo errr. Worrying posts especially as I had the TC in my hands a few days ago. The only thing I don't have is any of the symptoms!

The box is as smooth as it's always been.

This Thread suggests another reason with a problem on the MAF. Think I'll try this remedy first.........

Another one..

http://www.myautomotiverepair.com/?p=783

All seem to be pointing to a torque converter on it's way out. Probably more likely if you're caning it too

Clean the MAF sensor first. Good dowse with carb cleaner. No harm in that. And just forget about it until/if something does go wrong.

I just had this code as I have been looking into a lumpy idle today.

Gearbox drives 100% nothing else noticeable, cleared and not come back but I am also suspecting the MAF may a little sick.

How did you get on?

Hmmm is back again.

Though not sure of MAF is OK and I am getting a fault code from one of the Lambdas also.

Now I will look at fixing the MAF/ Lambda but not much really I can do on the box.

Change the MAF, clear the codes and just drive the thing? If it goes bang then hey time for a D3?

Interesting...

Drove the car for ages tonight to look into the problem a little more.

Drive at a constant 45mph, all is smooth no rev jumps.
Gear changes up and down all good, quick and smooth
Car accelerates as expected, kick down etc all good
Goes into Drive and Reverse quickly and no clunks
Does not stall or grumble in anyway

Looking at the codes again I now have P0155 (O2 Sensor Pre Cat), P0171 (System too Lean Bank 1) and P0174 System too Lean Bank 2).

All combined is never good and after cleaning the MAF its not made any change to the car.

It could be a hope the 17125 is linked the MAF/ 02 problem but its worth spending the few quid for new parts to check it out.
