Default no warm air at Rear

Now that I have your attention can anyone advise me as to why my D3 does not give out hot air at the rear passenger vents? Blowers are all working fine.

Have you done a VCDS scan?

I know mine always shows a fault with the rear lower heaters. I understand it's quite common.

I assume the fix is to replace them, but I don't know if they can be repaired.

With quad zone, the D3 sends cold air to the rear vents, which is then warmed up on its way past to the right temperature by electric heating elements.

These seem to fail quite often, and should should up on VCDS.

The D4 for reference uses a proper dual heater matrix arrangement to make the air the right temperature where its needed, like the Q7 and most other vehicles with rear climate....

Rear heater only blows warm/hot air if the temperature at the front heater is set higher than the rear.

Has anyone actually changed these rear heater elements? Are they easy to replace and what costs?

I think we should all arrange a repair meet? Where we all can hire a garage for the whole day and help each other.

I'd be happy to take part... as long as the parts aren't extortionately expensive!
