Audi W12 / Spyker W12
Spyker use the Audi W12 engine and gearbox. But with the spyker being mid engined, they modified the W12 Quattro box (as far as i know) and removed the rwd part where the driveshaft connects too..
I was under the impression that the engine cant stand up to having all the torque to the front wheels (which would be the rear on the spyker) How is it done? Making it power 2 wheels instead of 4? And is the spyker just delimited to reach near 200mph where the audi w12 only reaches 155? Im looking to build a project (just trying to push the limits of whats possible and not too mental) just to prove things can be done.. Such as a W12 rear 150mph+ buggy. Maybe turbo'd. But a A8 is cheaper compared to a Conti GT |

Would an Audi W12 not mate (with a bit of custom work) with a 2WD 6HP26 from a Jag or BMW?

My aim was to find a FWD box (transaxle kind of thing) so I didn't have to fit a diff and make the vehicle even longer.
I was thinking a Porsche Auto Box (Something with paddle shift) mounting it upside down as the box will be facing the rear not the front like a Porsche. |
