Default Loss of sat nav after battery change?

After replacing the battery, and correctly coding it to car, I've lost my sat nav! Everything else works fine. Is this something I could resolve by use of hidden menu (just asked for 'how to' access hidden menu too)?

There's no reason why you should lose the SatNav after replacing the battery! You might lose the clock in the instrument panel but nothing else.

Thus:

1) A VCDS Scan would be best for full diagnosis,
2) Failing that, run the 'Red screen' scan to see if the Sat Nav is on the MOST BUS.

I would just disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect cleanly, no bouncing and scraping sparking of contacts, just bang it on and tighten the bolt - worth a try, the theory is a 'dirty' reconnect may crash/scramble a module.

I've had a weird thing since disconnecting the battery on my D3 whilst on Holiday last year.

Everything works, except that the TMC indication when the MMI is switched on disappears completely when no TMC signal is present, and the outlined box pops up when TMC is being received rather than switching between the outlined and filled TMC box.

I must try and disconnect it again at some point to restore normal operation. Seems that disconnecting the battery can reset all sorts of oddities.

Hi all.
The bat disconnect and reconnect didn't work?

Surely if the nav unit was faulty it would knock out the whole MMI system?

Any thoughts anyone?

It was working fine until battery replacement.

Have you got anyone around with VCDS??
What does it say when you press NAV button, nothing or a message??
Faulty NAV button on the MMI console?
Even if there would be no power to the DVD drive button still should work, are the buttons light up when you press Eject for example?

Hi.
I've got VCDS, which I'll try soon.
I have a buyer round very soon.

When you press nav button it does light up.
The nav DVD drive box is live and ejects DVD fine

Would there be anything on the hidden menu related to sat nav?
