Updating Navigation?
Hi guys.
When we bought the A4 cabrio, the Navigation disc was missing. The OH found a 2016 update (its a 2007 car) disc on ebay. AFAIK it just went into the DVD player and did its thing and then we had bonny new maps. Is this something that can be done with my A8? Should i just be able to buy a disc, stick it in the DVD player and then get shiny new maps or do I need to do all the fancy VCDS stuff with chargers plugged on to the battery etc. I dont know which version of software/maps etc I have although i suspect its probably original 2003 stuff. How do I find out? Thanks again i n advance, Gill |

Quote:
1) Go to Navigation 2) Select the Setup Button 3) Scroll down to version information You'll see: : Media Version - Europa_10600_2413 [for example] The red digits are the firmware of the Navigation Unit [comes off the Nav. DVD : 1060 is the latest version and was on all DVDS from 2009]. : Database Version - EHW621/20140523170554 [for example] The red digits are the year of the data. It is one year behind that labelled on the DVD. This is the 2014 map data on the 2015 DVD. Julian
