Default We want a few days off ... with a good drive too!

Hi All,

We need a break and have managed (just) to get 6 days off from my owners (sorry, employers) across a weekend, starting Friday 3rd of June, back at work Friday 0th of June.

Thanks boss.

Anyway, whine over, we want a self catering get-away-from- it-all in the UK mainland . We need reasonable cooking and chill / freezer space for our Marks and Spencer ready meals and I want a good drive there, maybe an alternative good drive back. We line oop North in South Yorkshire and could use M Ways to connect to the "Great Drive".

This will be my inaugural trip and will enjoy wherever we go butI would appreciate any tips!

Robert

You could start off by coming to our annual meet from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June based in Llandovery and covering the black mountains, Brecon Beacons and pendine sands / Tenby areas, then pop up through wales to snowdonia where we went last year for our annual meet for the rest of the week! Awesome roads in all and where else will you be able to see 20-30 A8 and S8's all together and enjoy the programme of fun we've put together!!

Default Thanks for the tips!

Hi All,

Thanks for the Members Meet in Wales, I am working on SWIMBO... Long shot.

Scotland 500 I have noted for a Stag Do idea: I got engaged Christmas 2015 (brownie points spent on A8).

We are booked into a hotel in Bowness, Windemere for a couple of nights. Ideas for drive from South Yorks and alternative route back appreciated!

Robert

When we stayed in Bowness a few weeks back we did a quick blast up the Hartside Pass, not exactly on your route but worth the detour I would suggest

and for future reference this is also well worth doing

Might be too late for you, and it is expensive but for a couple of nights great fun and pampering of SWMBO have a look at this hotel:-

http://www.aphroditeslodge.co.uk/

Our daughter treated us to a couple of nights there last year.
My management loved it and did not complain about my speed onceon the way home.
